MBO
Mbour, Senegal
Created in 1952 by the Office pour la recherche scientifique outre-mer (ORSTOM). It was modernised in 1992 by the Institut de physique du globe de Paris and managed in collaboration with the Institut pour la recherche et de développement (IRD). MBO ceased on March 2020 when IRD sold the land. A new observatory opened 60km away inland, SOK.
